Current Road Projects

Oconee County is currently in the process of completing several transportation projects.

Week of February 15th, 2010

We will begin the planned improvements to the intersection of Oconee Connector/Mars Hill/Daniell's Bridge starting on Monday the 15th (weather permitting).  This first phase of the Daniell's Bridge Road corridor improvement will consist of widening Mars Hill Road to the west of this intersection to provide for a longer right turn lane and to align with the Daniell's Bridge approach.  QuickTrip is scheduled to begin their roadway improvements in the coming weeks to the east of this intersection.

Anyone wishing to do so can view the plans for the Daniell's Bridge Road Corridor Improvement project in the Public Works offices in the Government Annex.

Please use caution when travelling in this busy area.

November 5 & 6

Bouldercrest Circle will be closed at the 1400 address due to a culvert replacement project.  This culvert was damaged in the recent storms.  Work will commence at approximately 8:00AM on Thursday the 5th and is expected to be complete by 3:00PM on the 6th.  The road will be closed overnight on the 5th.  Residents will be able to access their homes, but no traffic will be permitted to pass through the construction zone.

Please respect the safety of our workers and observe all posted speed limits.

August-September 2009 Resurfacing Projects:

Please note that the first step in the resurfacing process is to perform deep patching of any severely cracked portions of the roadway.  There will be a 1-2 week delay between patching activities and the final resurfacing to allow the deep patches to cure.
